In my opinion Renoir was one of the best Impressionist painters, primarily because he painted the female form in a lush and sumptuous way. The Bathers, as above, is a classic example of his wonderful work. Not only are the placement of all the figures bang-on the mark, but the painting quality of the three main characters, who are unashamedly enjoying themselves, is quite exquisite.
