From Saturday 27 May to Tuesday 30 May 2023 (incl) and in partnership with the stunning art nude model Georgia Brown, one of the most sought-after UK art nude models, Studio Lavalette is excited to offer you a wonderful art nude weekend workshop.
The workshop is a wonderful opportunity to gain professionally-guided experience of shooting:
- in the grounds of a local castle, (we have lots of them - seriously!), or a large French country house with formal gardens and/or the many wonderfully atmospheric disused buildings near here.
- photographs beside a Charente vineyard;
- inside the medieval Maison du Couvent, the oldest house in Villebois-Lavalette;
- around the wonderful French countryside and woodlands, lakes and rivers;
- within the secluded stone walled gardens and swimming pool of Studio Lavalette; and
- in a state-of-the-art Studio with Bowen lights and infinity curve.
The whole workshop experience is designed to add some "je ne sais quoi..." to your photographs!
Including full-board, accommodation, tuition, model fee and transport to/from Bergerac or Limoges airports, the price is £699 per photographer, and £349 for your non-photographer partner/spouse.

How long is the Art Nude Workshop?
The Art Nude Workshop in France lasts 2.5 days and starts with our Welcome Dinner on the Saturday at 19:15, when we run through the Workshop Program. This Art Nude Workshop in France ends around lunchtime on the following Tuesday.
A day consists of two Sessions, each lasting a minimum of 3 hours – so that’s over 12 hours of expert tuition, but there's plenty of time to relax, read, go for a stroll, or take a dip in the pool.
Our times are flexible but on a typical day, continental breakfast is served around 9:00 with the first Session starting at 10:00. We break for lunch at 13:00, and with the exception of the last day, the afternoon Session starts at 14:00 and ends at 17:00. Dinner is served at 19:15.
What does the Art Nude Workshop cover?
The following outlines what Art Nude Workshop in France will cover:
- posing an art nude model whilst on location;
- how to use landscape and scenic backdrops to maximise the visual narrative;
- when and how to use reflectors and/or Speedlites for fill-in light;
- light modifiers and diffusers;
- when and how to use studio lights, soft boxes, barn doors, snoots, beauty dishes etc.;
- ….lots, lots more!
What does Art Nude Workshop cost and what does the price include?
The price for this Art Nude Workshop in France is £699.00 and it includes:
- dinner (with wine), bed, breakfast and lunch for 3 nights and 3 days;
- free collection from, and return to, Angoulême railway station*;
- the model's fee and model release form;
- transportation to and from on-location photo-shoots;
- occasional use/trial of our digital cameras, lenses and lighting equipment;
- 3-4 A4 prints of your best work;
- on-site Wi-Fi;
- local taxes;
- use of the Studio, grounds and swimming pool; and
- a 15% discount off any future Studio Lavalette Courses or Workshops you attend – we want to see you again!
The cost of the Art Nude Workshop in France does NOT include:
- your own health, travel, holiday and photo equipment/clothes insurance;
- *if you are arriving into/departing from either Bergerac, Bordeaux or Limoges airports, there is a charge of 100 Euros per trip in each direction; and
- your transportation costs from your home to either Angoulême railway station or Bergerac, Bordeaux or Limoges Airports and vice versa.
Please note:
We have two twin-bedded rooms and one double room - the double room is available on a first come, first served basis.
TERMS & CONDITIONS
We require a refundable deposit of 25% when you make a booking. This deposit becomes non-refundable 4 (four) weeks before the start of the Art Nude Workshop in France. The balance of 75% is due 4 weeks before the start of the Workshop.
If you want to Cancel your Booking
You may cancel a Booking at any time up to 4 weeks before the start of this Art Nude Workshop in France and your deposit will be refunded in full. However, as noted above, after that 4-week deadline the balance of your Art Nude Workshop in France fee is payable in full and your deposit becomes non-refundable.
If we have to Cancel this Art Nude Workshop
In the unlikely event that we have to cancel this Art Nude Workshop in France, we will let you know as soon as possible and contact you to arrange for another convenient date. If no alternative dates can be fixed, we undertake to refund you, in full, any monies you have paid to us and us alone.

For those coming on this Art Nude Workshop in France, we recommend you bring the following photo-shoot essentials:
- your camera, lenses, flashgun/Speedlite, camera bag, memory cards, battery charger and any other equipment you might have/need;
- a laptop, if you have one;
- comfortable clothes and walking shoes;
- a hat/cap or sun cream – the sun can get quite strong here; and
- an anorak – it does rain!
