Guide to the Luminosity Blend Mode - Step 5

With the B&W Luminosity Layer now in place I can begin to do the final edits that can take literally hours to do and you do need a Wacom tablet.

The sad thing about the Web is that these hours of toil are not properly represented in this image – you need to see the final print, which will be available when you attend one of our photography holiday courses in France.

Essentially what I do at the final Step is to use two Adjustment Curves Layers – one to pull out the light areas and the other to pull out the darker areas. But rather than splatting on these Layers to those underneath, I work at least 200% if not 300% magnification and apply them, via the tablet, almost pixel by pixel. Mad I might be, but the results are credible and, in my opinion, more artistic.
