Photography Holidays, Courses and Workshops in France - Studio Lavalette
How to get to Studio Lavalette
Studio Lavalette is located in the heart of Villebois-Lavalette - we are in the Charente, South West France. Whether you are coming by rail, sea, road, air, or a combination of these, getting here is very easy.
Getting here by rail is probably the easiest and most civilised - well that's our view! Angoulême is the nearest mainline station (it's less than 30 minutes from the Studio) and we'll happily come and meet your train and bring you to the Studio free of charge - yes free of charge! Here are some details about getting here by rail:
If you're coming from northern Europe, (Holland, Belgium, Luxembourg, northern France, Germany, or Scandanavia), catch the TGV from Montparnasse Station in Paris and in just a little over 2 hours you'll be here at the Studio, with your feet up having a cup of tea! Here's a link to the TGV website in English.
If you're coming from the UK, get yourself to St Pancras International in London and take the Eurostar to the Gare du Nord in Paris, then get across Paris by Metro to Montparnasse. You can actually buy your rail ticket from your local station all way the way through to Angoulême. Here's the a link to the Eurostar website.
The South West of France is chock full of wonderful things to do and see, so we really urge you to either drive here, or hire a car at the one of the airports. With your own transport you are then free to roam around whilst you are here, or stay in the area either before, or after, your chosen Course or Workshop.
We've created a download-able and printable PDF, just follow this link.
Studio Lavalette is only 50 miles north of Bergerac Airport, which serves flights to and from most major cities in the UK and Ireland. Although further away, there are also flights in and out of Limoges, La Rochelle, Poitiers and Bordeaux. Car hire/rental can be made in advance at all five airports.
